Why Natracare

Plastic Free

The average period product is loaded with plastic. Choosing plastic free pads and tampons lets intimate skin breathe and cuts out plastic pollution.

All Natural

Sustainable by the power of nature. We use renewable materials in our products which are naturally absorbent, waterproof, breathable and soft.

Intimate Health

Good intimate health is vital. Avoid synthetic and unwanted chemicals. Naturally hypoallergenic materials help relieve symptoms from allergies, intimate irritation and soreness.

Certified Organic

Cotton is the most pesticide sprayed crop in the world. Using only 100% certified organic cotton means no chemicals and no toxic pesticides for your vagina or the planet.

No Fiber Loss

Do you know how many fibres come off a tampon when worn? Try the tampon dip test and find out. We use long fibre organic cotton, this means no tampon fibre loss.

Totally Chlorine Free

Many period products are bleached with chlorine, but not ours. Find out what Totally Chlorine Free (TCF) means and why it matters.

Effective Protection

Reliable, absorbent materials so you can go about your day leak and worry-free. Natural, effective and comfortable period and incontinence products. Going green doesn’t mean compromise.

Vegan

Make your menstrual cycle vegan and keep it animal friendly. Many period products aren’t. Certified Vegan by The Vegetarian Society.

FAQs

Q: Why use wood pulp inside of the pads?
We never use chemically processed pulp (such as rayon aka viscose) or synthetic materials in our pads. Instead, we use fluffed wood pulp in the absorbent core of our pads. Our pulp is sustainably sourced from fast growing, Scandinavian pine trees – which is very absorbent! We mechanically process the wood to make it soft and fluffy – this fibre structure is more absorbent than using cotton alone. Pulp is natural, renewable, and more sustainable alternative than the use of super absorbent polymers (SAPs) found in most conventional pads. The cover is made from certified organic cotton, and this sits next to the skin, acting as a soft cover to wick away leaks.
Q: How do you use the wings on a pad?
Natracare ultra pads come with wings. When prepping the pad for use, remove the central paper strip and press the sticky side into your underwear. Then peel the paper off the wings, and fold around the sides of the gusset and press underneath. This helps hold the pad in place whilst being used.
Q: Are pads with wings better?
Choosing whether to use pads with or without wings comes down to personal preference. You may prefer keeping a pad extra securely in place with wings. Or your may find it an unnecessary extra or prefer the feel of pads without wings.
Q: How to dispose of ultra pads?
Natracare ultra pads are home compostable. This means that if you have a compost bin at home, you can dispose of them in there. They’re considered brown compost, and we recommend breaking up the pad using scissors before adding to your compost. If you don’t have a compost bin at home, your pads can be disposed of in your regular bin using, ideally, a biodegradable bin liner.
